New Years Eve in Glasgow
We are fast approaching the end of the year already! With Halloween and Guy Fawkes’s Night on the horizon, it helps to plan ahead! We know just how bustling Scotland’s biggest city can be at Hogmanay (New Year’s Eve), which is why this month’s offer is very special indeed.
While most hotels charge a premium rate for rooms on December 31st, here at the Embassy Apartments we would like to reward our regular blog readers and social media followers with a 10% discount on all New Year’s Eve bookings. Move fast though – with an offer this good, we’re expecting our rooms to be booked up quickly!
To redeem your 10% discount, simply go to our dedicated booking portal on the Embassy Apartments website, and book direct. While you’re looking through our pages, why not take a look at our informative blog to discover some insider pointers on what’s best to see and do in the city? For now, we wanted to share our top picks for cosy bars and venues you can rely on to make your Hogmanay one to remember, without jostling with the crowds.
The Ben Nevis
This unpretentious pub is located
Just a tip before we give you the details, drinking alcohol on the streets of Glasgow is illegal, so make sure your drinks are of the soft, non-alcohol variety, or you could get into hot water!
Now that the serious bit’s been explained, let us tell you why there’s a park on the list. Kelvingrove is one of Glasgow’s most frequented city spots and is delightful both day and night. On New Year’s Eve, you’ll find a sprinkling of folk walking up to it’s apex to watch fireworks soaring over the skyline, while soaking up the unique atmosphere of the turn of the year, in this tranquil nook – a refreshing alternative to bars and clubs, we reckon.
Old School House
… or, to be honest, any other pub that’s halfway decent. It doesn’t sound like much, but we’re so assured of good old-fashioned Glasgow cheer, that we know you could choose to have a drink in just about any city bar, restaurant or pub and experience a brilliant time this New Year’s Eve. We’ve chosen the Old School House as their doors are often open to all at Hogmanay and prices are moderate. You’ll find ample seating both inside and outside and the food’s rather good too. You’ll find it’s busy, welcoming and only a ten-minute stroll from our apartments – very handy for ambling back after the bells!
